- All mPKI connectors to the various CAs are available at no extra cost in the basic licence of the Secure E-Mail Gateway.
- A company check is carried out once by the CA when setting up the mPKI interface.
- Obtaining, managing and renewing the e-mail certificates is done fully automatically via the connector of the Secure E-Mail Gateway. No administrative action is required for this.
- All other certificates can be obtained via the CA’s mPKI portal without any further company checks and are charged by the minute at the end of the year.
Managed PKI Certificates
DIGITAL CERTIFICATES
The user certificates required for signature and encryption can be obtained automatically by the Secure E-Mail Gateway via a MPKI (Managed Publickey Infrastructure) if required or imported manually for the respective user. This means that the central functionalities required for this (built-in PKI, connectors to official CAs, automatic assignment function of the certificates to the users) are available in the SEPPmail by default and without any costs and are made available to the operator and user with the encryption licence. The signature functionality is activated as soon as the user licence has been purchased.
Certificate types
The certificates themselves are subject to a fee and are offered by third-party companies. In order to make obtaining the corresponding certificates a breeze, SEPPmail – Deutschland GmbH works together with well-known certificate authorities (CAs) and sells their digital certificates.
